The highlight of Tuesday night’s debate was undoubtedly the president’s refusal to offer a full-throated condemnation of the white supremacist group, the Proud Boys, and other organizations like it.
Speaking with Gayle King following the debate, Donald Trump Jr. said that his father misspoke when he was pressed about the Proud Boys. Don Jr. said his father is “more than happy” to condemn white supremacists. “I don’t know if that was a misspeak, but he was talking about having them stand down,” said Trump Jr.
