More details are being released surrounding the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where a gunman opened fire on Tuesday (May 24).

It was originally reported that there were 19 people killed, but on Wednesday morning the death toll had risen to 21, which was revealed to be 19 students and two adults. The children killed were in the second, third, and fourth grades

The shooter, revealed to be Salvador Ramos, was also killed by police during the incident. Ramos shot his grandmother before entering the school, and it has been reported that she is in critical condition. University Health San Antonio tweeted there are two patients, a 66-year-old woman presumed to be Ramos’ grandmother, and a 10-year-old girl, who are in critical condition. Names of some of the victims are also being released, including: Xavier Lopez, 10, a fourth-grader, as well as fellow fourth-grader Amerie Jo Garza, and 8-year-old Uziyah Garcia. It was also revealed that third-grader Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez was killed in the same classroom as her cousin. Two fourth-grade teachers, Eva Mireles and Irma Garcia, also died in the shooting.
