Video surfaced out of El Paso, TX showing county jail inmates working at the local morgue by helping with the overflow of the bodies of COVID-19 victims.
At least half a dozen inmates were seen on video or captured in photos, stacking dead bodies in refrigerated trailers. According to reports, inmates were paid $2/hr to put the bodies onto shelves. As of Saturday, more than 73,000 residents in the county of 720,000 people with 762 dead. Officials said the medical examiner plans to add another two refrigerated trailers to the fleet of eight already behind the morgue.
