Kodak Black and Boosie attended a Black History Month reception at the White House on Thursday (Feb. 20).
“Kodak in the People’s House,” the official White House X account wrote along with an American flag emoji and photos of the “Super Gremlin” MC. Fellow rapper Rod Wave were also invited, a White House official told the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity. Plenty of celebrities have faced backlash in recent months for their support for Donald Trump, including Kodak Black. The rapper hasn’t shied away from flaunting his political affiliation, particularly since the current U.S. President granted him a pardon on his final day in office back in 2021.
DeLoach mentioned on Instagram that he spoke with Patton about getting a pardon for Boosie after the rapper reached out to Donald Trump on X for a pardon. He wrote, “Taking the fight for justice to the highest level! Attorney DeLoach met with Pardon Czar @alicemariefree and Deputy Assistant to the President @lynnepatton at the White House to advocate for a pardon for Boosie Badazz. #PardonBoosie #JusticeMatters #AttorneyDeLoach.”
Other prominent Black figures at the event included Herschel Walker, Martin Luther King’s niece Alveda King, Rod Wave, Tiger Woods, Terrence K. Williams, and Sage Steele.
