Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is teaming up with Brooklyn’s Long Island University to launch the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment.

The new school is set to welcome its first incoming class during the Fall 2021 semester and 25% of the incoming freshman class will receive Roc Nation Hope Scholarships. The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment will offer undergraduate degrees in music, music technology, entrepreneurship and production, and sports management. LIU and Roc Nation’s school will also launch summer residential camps for high schoolers and Saturday programs focused on music and sports management for students between the ages of 10-18. These programs will start next Spring and scholarships will be available for need-based students.

LIU President, Dr. Kimberly Cline, highlighted the school’s proximity in and around New York City’s epicenter of music and sports and how that will position them to offer a unique learning experience to students. Students will have the opportunity to engage with guest artists and lecturers, as well as gain real experience through internships. The school will begin accepting applications this fall for the Fall 2021 semester.
