News surfaced noting that Jackboy started a GoFundMe in support of building a hospital in Haiti.
News of this comes after it was revealed Jackboy would be donating $100,000 of his own money to efforts related to relief for Haiti. The rapper addressed the move via Twitter, saying, “The 7.2 earthquake that recently struck motivated me to raise awareness of the struggling conditions in my country.” Jackboy then directed fans to donate to the fund for helping to build the hospital. The GoFundMe page gave more information on what would be happening with the donations, saying, “For Phase 1 efforts, Jackboy and team will be ordering supplies and sending directly to a reputable charity located in Haiti. Funds will be spent on orthopedic supplies, tarps for shelter, and the foundation of the hospital.” As of now, the GoFundMe has reached $25,983 of the $300,000 goal set.
