According to reports, the former National Chairman of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, 39, was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison and 36 months of supervised release for his role in the Jan 6 insurrection.

Prosecutors had sought over 30 years of imprisonment for Tarrio, even though he was not present in Washington, D.C. during the attack. However, they argue that he played a significant role in initiating and encouraging the violence that unfolded. This sentencing marks the last punishment for a Proud Boys leader involved in the Capitol riots. Lawyers for the Proud Boys vehemently deny any seditious conspiracy on their part, insisting that Tarrio had no involvement in the events that took place on January 6th.
