According to reports, Elon Musk is now the world’s second-richest person after leapfrogging Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
Musk can thank Trump for giving the “okay” to a Biden transition, which helped shares in Tesla shoot through the roof. Biden campaigned as more of a clean energy advocate than President Trump, which could speak to the sudden rise in Tesla stock. Musk has seen his wealth grow exponentially over the course of the year to an astounding $128 billion. NBC News reports that his personal wealth is primarily made up of “owning 20 percent of Tesla and 54 percent of his space transportation company SpaceX.”
