According to reports, Customs and Border Protection agents in Cincinnati took over 200 fake Rolexes from a shipment that came from China.

The manifest for the shipment was named “Timer,” and was intercepted on its way to New York on August 28. It was noted that when CBP officers reached out to the Centers of Excellence and Expertise, they were looking to verify the authenticity of the watches. While the declared value of the watches was only $1, if they were real, the shipment would have been worth over $2.5 million. Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie issued a statement on the matter, saying,

“Intellectual property theft threatens America’s economic vitality and funds criminal activities and organized crime. Our officers are dedicated to protecting private industry and consumers by removing these kinds of shipments from our commerce.”
