The Washington Football Team has been actively mulling over what they should change their team’s name to, and now, the Cleveland baseball team has revealed they will no longer be using the “Indians” moniker due to its culturally offensive nature. The team has revealed they are changing the name to the Cleveland Guardians following the 2021 season.

The name is reportedly inspired by the landmark stone edifices in Cleveland that are on both ends of the Hope Memorial Bridge that connects downtown Cleveland to Ohio City. Reports noted this name was the one they chose after previously having almost 1,200 choices a month ago. This will be the fifth name change in the history of the team.
