Insiders believed that KD could wind up in Golden State as he nurses his injury while others think a new team has emerged as the front runners to land Kevin Durant.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Brooklyn Nets are now the front runners to land KD in free agency. With reports circulating about the Nets having second thoughts about signing Kyrie Irving if he couldn’t make him and KD a package deal things have done a complete 180 in the last couple days. Windhorst, alongside former NBA champion and close friend of KD, Kendrick Perkins, spoke on ESPN’s The Jump where they both agreed that the Nets should feel confident in landing Durant.

If the Nets are able to pull off a haul of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, restricted free-agent D’Angelo Russell could see his tenure in Brooklyn come to an end just as he was coming into his own.
