Joe Biden is taking measures to undo the laws put into place by Donald Trump during his time in office.

Previously, Joe Biden ordered the Department of Justice not to renew contracts with private prisons. Now, Biden is revoking Trump’s ban on abortion. The current president signed a memorandum that reverses the restrictions on abortions that can be accessed abroad and domestically. When speaking on the memo to reporters, Biden said the move would “reverse my predecessor’s attack on women’s health access.”

Biden said his move also acknowledges a promise he made during his campaign “to protect and expand access to comprehensive reproductive health care.” Biden’s memo will rescind the “global gag rule,” a ban on U.S. government funding foreign nonprofits that promote or perform abortions. It was also reported that Biden signed two executive actions related to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid. Biden noted that he’s “restoring the Affordable Care Act and restoring Medicaid to the way it was before [Donald] Trump became president.” Stay tuned for more updates.
