The United States of America witnessed its most deadly year as far as drug overdoses are concerned.
According to the CDC, there were more than 100,000 drug overdose deaths recorded in 2021. An estimated 100,300 Americans died of drug overdoses between May 2020 and April 2021. That is a 30% uptick from the previous year. President Joe Biden issued a statement regarding the grisly figure and told Americans his administration “cannot overlook this epidemic of loss, which has touched families and communities across the country.”
