According to reports, Payless Shoes will be halting operation for its 2,100 stores throughout the United States.

In addition to the brick & mortar locations, Payless will also be shutting down its online store as well with liquidation sales to begin on Sunday. The company via an issued statement in USA Today:

“We expect all stores to remain open until at least the end of March and the majority will remain open until May. This process does not affect the company’s franchise operations or its Latin American stores, which remain open for business as usual.”

Payless filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in 2017 which led to 400 stores closing and the Wall Street Journal predicts the company will file again before the remaining stores are closed.
