Nipsey Hussle has been stacking the wins recently, with not only his latest album Victory Lap that was a commercial success and earned him a Grammy nomination, but also with a slew of business deals that’s taken the artist to another echelon.
For that reason, Nipsey recently did an interview with Forbes magazine to describe how his life has changed over the years, whereas he’s now renting out storefronts in the neighborhood in areas that he used to hustle in.
“Before we were renting here, I was hustling in this parking lot,” said Nipsey in reference to his Marathon Clothing store off Crenshaw Boulevard, “It’s just always been a hub for local entrepreneurs.”
Additionally, earlier in the month Nipsey and his business partner, Dave Gross, paid “a couple million” to purchase the plaza altogether, with plans of knocking it down to build a six-story residential building atop a new commercial plaza in the years to come.
It should be noted that throughout his career, Nipsey has often been credited for his business savvy, most notably when he decided to sell his 2013 Crenshaw mixtape for $100 each. To justify its value, Nipsey was only offering 1,000 copies of the exclusive mixtape, of which Jay Z himself bought 100 copies for $10,000.
