According to reports, young adults in America, ages 18-29, are living with their parents at a rate not seen since the Great Depression.

A Pew Research poll showed that 52% of all young adults in the country were staying with their parents in July. The number of young adults living with their parents skyrocketed to 26.6 million in July, up from 2.6 million in February. A Pew researcher also noted that the number of white young adults living with parents was significantly lower than their ethnic counterparts but things have changed this time around. “In past decades, White young adults have been less likely than their Asian, Black, and Hispanic counterparts to live with their parents,” said the Pew expert. “That gap has narrowed since February as the number of White young adults living with their mothers and/or fathers grew more than for other racial and ethnic groups.”
