The FAIR Act, also known as Assembly Bill 2926, is getting support from Lauryn Hill.
The bill aims to prevent labels from suing artists who leave their contracts prematurely. It would repeal California’s “Seven-Year Statute,” which was enacted in 1987 and allows labels to sue artists who haven’t delivered all of the albums on their contract if they leave after seven years.
