Kentucky Democrat Charles Booker is running for U.S. Senate and used his latest campaign ad as an opportunity to drum up some buzz with some provocative imagery.
Booker uses his campaign ad to reflect on the horrific history of lynching in the U.S. South. “The pain of our past persists to this day,” Booker says. “In Kentucky, like many states throughout the South, lynching was a tool of terror. It was used to kill hopes for freedom. It was used to kill my ancestors.”
The ad cuts to an image of Booker with a noose around his neck signifying the South’s dark past, but also spoke about the historic nature of his Senate run and his opponent Sen. Rand Paul.
