Kawhi Leonard was unanimously named the 2019 NBA Finals MVP after a stellar series against the Warriors and a dominant playoff run overall.
Leonard was able to help carry the Raptors to the franchise’s first NBA title but on an individual level, Kawhi was able to play himself into elite company. With this Finals MVP award, Kawhi Leonard becomes the third player in league history to claim the award on two different teams. The other two players that captured the MVP trophy for two different teams are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Bucks and Lakers) and LeBron James (Heat and Cavs). Kawhi is also the first player to win the award for a team in both conferences.
