On the latest episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart trolled Donald Trump’s fixation on Nicki Minaj as the president’s odd remarks about the rapper’s “beautiful ass” have been making the rounds across the internet.

Stewart began the evening’s show by focusing on the midterm elections, and the issues that voters are, “for some reason,” fixated on: the economy, cost of living and the war in Iran. Stewart also took aim at an ad from Ohio Republican governor hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy that features Democratic candidate Amy Acton’s estranged mother. Stewart then cut to a clip of Trump defending the ad, and calling the reporter asking him if “the sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to” him a “horrible little reporter.”

Ahead of last week’s show, it was announced that Stewart would remain the host of “The Daily Show” through 2028. Stewart’s contract was set to end at the end of 2026 after signing a one-year renewal in November 2025. Stewart made his hosting debut on “The Daily Show” in 1999, left in 2015, and returned in February 2024. After his return, “The Daily Show” ratings went up. Onstage, Nicki pledged to keep backing Trump and told him, “If you run again, I will support you again.”

Her immediate appeal focused on two Michigan Republicans: Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James. She urged the crowd to vote for both men and led chants of their names. The trip added to a run of public appearances that linked Minaj to the administration.
