President Joe Biden has reversed the executive order Trump put in place to restrict diversity training in the workplace.

If the order were to remain, it would have put limits on the advancement of racial equality in the workplace by restricting diversity training for federal government employees along with contractors. Trump initially signed the order in September 2020, and the goal was to stop the teaching of what he called “divisive concepts.” The goal for Biden’s reversal, according to a fact sheet from his administration, was to start “the work of embedding equity across federal policymaking and rooting out systemic racism and other barriers to opportunity from federal programs and institutions.”

Along with that, Biden’s executive order also reportedly overturned the 1776 commission, which the Trump administration made in response to the New York Times’ ’1619 Project.’ Stay tuned for more details.
