As the world awaits the release of his highly-anticipated sixth studio album The Off-Season, J. Cole stopped by Power 106’s L.A. Leakers to freestyle over a pair of rap classics.

Fans were disappointed last week when a new J. Cole released turned out to be an interlude and not the rapper’s upcoming album, The Off-Season. However, the North Carolina native unleashed a new freestyle during an appearance on Power 106’s L.A. Leakers show. The latest freestyle saw J. Cole attack Souls of Mischief’s “93 ‘Til Infinity” and Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin’.” After the roughly five-minute freestyle, J. Cole confirmed that his new album will be released this Friday, May 14. Earlier this week, J. Cole became the first rapper to grace the cover of Slam magazine. During the interview, the 36-year-old explained the inspiration behind The Off-Season.
