Ice Cube was set to co-star alongside Jack Black for Sony Pictures’ upcoming comedy, Oh Hell No.
However, the rapper and filmmaker has exited the film after declining the COVID-19 vaccine. The film was scheduled to start shooting in Hawaii this winter but has to push back production after Ice Cube’s departure. Producers of the film are currently searching for an actor to replace the rapper, who was reportedly set to make $9 million for acting in the film. Oh Hell No is the second film project Ice Cube has left in recent months. He was set to co-star in the boxing film Flint Strong but walked away for unknown reasons. Despite Ice Cube’s refusal to get vaccinated, he has promoted mask-wearing and raised proceeds for frontline health workers.
Ice Cube’s representative, Sony, Oh Hell No‘s producers, and agency WME have all declined to comment on Ice Cube’s departure.
