Radio host Howard Stern recently sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, and Stern brought up his past talks with Donald Trump.
He also shared that he has “inside information” that Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign was a publicity stunt. Stern said Trump’s talk of running for president started with his 1987 book The Art of the Deal, which went to number one after Trump started the rumor. Stern pointed out that Trump did the same thing with the release of his second book.
Stern then added:
“The Apprentice ratings were not what they were, NBC was not going to give him a raise. And what’s a better way to get NBC’s interest? I’ll run for president and I’ll get lots of press. And I think that’s what happened.”Â
