Gunna’s Wunna Run Club and Walmart pledged $10,000 in scholarships as part of a new link with Florida A&M University’s homecoming 5K.

The school announced the partnership on October 16, pairing its annual race with aid for five students. Each student will receive $2,000. The awards will go to students whose majors have a health-related component, FAMU said. The October 22 event at Bragg Memorial Stadium will be the fifth annual Walmart-sponsored homecoming run and walk. FAMU said it has drawn hundreds of people. Walmart’s Regine Moore said the company’s goal had been “showing up consistently for a community we genuinely value.”

Gunna announced the club in August 2025 before its first major 5K in Brooklyn. He hosted that race at Prospect Park on September 3. Organizer NYCRUNS handled registration, timing and the course, turning the artist’s fitness project into a staffed public event. NYCRUNS said the Brooklyn race reached its registration limit within hours of the signup opening. His Atlanta run this year was set to benefit Gunna’s Great Giveaway, his nonprofit serving families in South Fulton. He also said his own fitness routine had taught him to balance studio time with training and helped his stamina onstage. He said he often used runs to listen to beats or songs he had just made. Time away from the studio gave him a chance to think through changes before he went back to work.
