A representative for the Nichols family—attorney Ben Crump, revealed members of George Floyd’s family would be attending the ceremony for Nichols in Memphis on Wednesday. 

Crump represented the Floyd family following the tragic 2020 loss of their loved one at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. It was noted the family of George Floyd sent their condolences to the family of Tyre Nichols but haven’t met in person yet. The families are supposed to meet at the funeral, which is taking place at the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis. While speaking to TMZ, Crump mentioned the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which is currently being pushed to get passed by Congress. Crump said Nichols’ family was invited to join efforts related to getting the act passed.
