According to reports, FDA regulators have ordered Johnson & Johnson to scrap 60 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine produced at a troubled Baltimore plant run by Emergent BioSolutions due to possible contamination.

The plant was reportedly shut down in April following an inspection that revealed several violations, including possible contamination of J&J’s vaccines with a key ingredient from AstraZeneca’s Covid vaccine. The FDA also found that several batches of the vaccine weren’t “suitable for use,” but didn’t disclose how many doses were discarded.
