According to reports, the Food and Drug Administration has banned Juul Labs Inc. from marketing any products in the United States.

FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said a rise in teenagers using vaping products pushed the FDA to take a thorough look at e-cigarettes. This past Thursday, a regulator said Juul must stop selling and distributing products, and products on the market must be removed. If not, they face enforcement action. Califf gave more detail on the move in a statement:

“The agency has dedicated significant resources to review products from the companies that account for most of the US market. We recognize these make up a significant part of the available products, and many have played a disproportionate role in the rise in youth vaping.”
