Eritrean and Ethiopian communities gathered in Baldwin Hills to pay tribute to Nipsey Hussle, who was born Ermias Asghedom to Eritrean and African American parents.
Nipsey’s friend, Jordan Berhe, spoke to L.A.’s CBS 2, about her friendship with the late rapper, stating, “It is a loss for our community, it’s a loss for the entire world.” She added, “By him growing up in that neighborhood, we see a lot of diversity and the gang activity, the poverty, so he didn’t want that to be continued in his generation. He had a dream.”
