Don Lemon recapped his controversial stance on certain behaviours within Black culture, echoing sentiments once publicly stated by Bill Cosby.
Lemon addressed the backlash he has received for urging Black people to “pull up their pants” and stop using the n-word. He emphasized that these behaviors contribute to negative stereotypes and hinder the social progress of Black communities. Lemon argued that judgments based on negative behaviors persistently tarnish the image of African-Americans. He compared how White individuals in trailer parks are seldom seen as representatives of White society, suggesting an unfair bias against Black people. Highlighting his intent to uplift his community, Lemon stressed that walking around with sagging pants is degrading and perpetuates harmful stereotypes.
