Disney has now released a new full-length trailer of “The Lion King,” their latest live-action adaptation of one of their animated classics.
The new trailer provides a more in-depth look of how the characters and storyline will transition to CGI, resembling the approach previously used by director Jon Favreau in the 2016 remake of “The Jungle Book.”
Additionally, the voices of the iconic characters can be now be heard in full, provided by a star-studded cast that includes Donald Glover (Simba), Beyoncé (Nala), Seth Rogan (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), John Oliver (Zazu), and James Earl Jones returning to voice Mufasa.
Based on the latest preview, it appears that the film will follow the plot from the 1994 classic scene-by-scene, which at the time of its release was the second-highest grossing film of all time.
“The Lion King” will hit theatres on July 19th, 2019.
