Minister Louis Farrakhan sparked confusion after referring to Nipsey Hussle as “Nipsey Russell” during his memorial service.
Nipsey Hussle created his stage name in reference to the longtime comic Nipsey Russell, who appeared in 1978’s THE WIZ. During his speech, the leader of the Nation of Islam religious group said that he meant to say it as a reference to Oklahoma Thunder star Russell Westbrook, adding, “I said it right.” He later called Hussle by the same name later in his speech.
