Conor McGregor is set to make his official comeback during UFC 246 on January 18, when he faces off against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
UFC President Dana White made the announcement on Thanksgiving Day, “Conor has signed and Cerrone is ready to go,” he said. This will be McGregor’s first action since UFC 229 when things went off the rails after his bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov which Khabib won by submission. McGregor’s opponent, Donald Cerrone, is a UFC veteran with a 36-13-0 record and holds the UFC record for most wins with 23. Despite being a quality fighter, however, Cerrone has never held a title belt.
