American citizens in desperate need of financial support as the country slowly shuts down in response to the growing cases and deaths due to COVID-19 may get some relief in Congress’s latest relief plan.
According to reports, Congressional leaders and the White House are nearing an agreement on a $900 billion COVID-19 relief plan that would include stimulus checks for Americans. In addition to stimulus checks, the bill will also include enhanced federal jobless benefits, small-business funding, and funds to distribute COVID-19 vaccines. It’s not yet clear just how much the stimulus checks will be. Sources in Washington have speculated that the checks will only be $600 for individuals, while others say the figure could be higher.
