California holds the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States.

California has recorded 409,000 confirmed cases and has 1,200 more cases than New York. However, data from John’s Hopkins University has New York remaining at the top of the list of COVID-19 deaths with 72,302. While these numbers are staggering, the CDC warns that these figures underestimate the actual rate of infection. California finds itself back where it started in March when the pandemic gripped the United States. Gov. Gavin Newsome has reportedly implemented a new set of restrictions in the wake of the state reopening businesses starting back in May.
