It looks like Bhad Bhabie has given haters another reason to envy.
Fresh off the heels of announcing plans to go on tour this summer, Danielle Bregoli aka Bhad Bhabie has added a new accomplishment to her budding career. According to TMZ, the 15-year-old’s single “Hi Bich” has been certified gold, selling over 500k copies. The single has gained over 84 million plays on SoundCloud, and the video has amassed 85 million views on YouTube.
The remix of the song has taken off as well. Alongside Rich The Kid, Asian Doll, and YBN Nahmir, Bregoli took shots at Iggy Azalea, calling the female emcee “washed.” Bregoli, who turned her Dr. Phil appearance into a budding rap career, signed to Atlantic records last September. She became the youngest female rapper to crack the Billboard Hot 100 chart after her first since “These Heaux” debuted at no. 77.
Despite her success, Bregoli has gained many detectors which have called out the young rapper for cultural appropriation. “You cannot act a color. Do not tell me I’m acting black because I’m not. I’m acting ‘urban,’ or whatever you want to call it. I don’t even have a name for it, I call it, ‘me.’ How I act is me.” Bregoli told The Fader.
