Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced that he was suspending his presidential campaign. This will set up a general election between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden.
Sanders told his staff in a conference call that path to winning the Democratic presidential nomination is “virtually impossible” after a series of crushing primary losses. Citing the coronavirus pandemic, Sanders added, “I cannot in good conscience continue to mount a campaign that cannot win and which would interfere with the important work required of all of us in this difficult hour.”
Today I am suspending my campaign. But while the campaign ends, the struggle for justice continues on. https://t.co/MYc7kt2b16
