The original Bad Boys film starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith was released back in 1995.

It would be another 8 years before the sequel, Bad Boys II dropped. Already 15 years removed from part two, it is only now that we are starting to see a real glimmer of a third installment.

Sure, there were rumors floating around during that time, but nothing ever materialized. Michael Bay, who directed the first two backed away from a third spin. Afterward, director Joe Carnahan stepped in but later dropped out. However, things look like they could actually change now. According to Cinemablend, Moroccan filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah are going to spearhead Bad Boys For Life. Previously, the pair directed two episodes of FX’s series, Snowfall. They are also attached to Beverly Hills Cop 4. El Arbi and Fallah broke out with their 2015 film Black in Belgium, where they both were raised.

Currently, El Arbi and Fallah are in negotiations with Sony Pictures. Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the flick. There is also a draft of the script, most currently written by Chris Bremner. An August production date is being eyed. There is no release date as of yet.
