All of the members of the Thailand youth soccer team have been rescued including the coach. President Trump tweeted this morning:

On behalf of the United States, congratulations to the Thai Navy SEALs and all on the successful rescue of the 12 boys and their coach from the treacherous cave in Thailand. Such a beautiful moment – all freed, great job!”

A total of eight boys from a youth soccer team in Thailand have been rescued thus far. Over the weekend, it was reported that four boys were taken to safety. This morning, another four were pulled from the flooded cave. They were all immediately rushed to the hospital. A total of 12 boys and their 25-year-old coach were trapped there for two weeks. The team members range from ages 11 to 16. The group went exploring in the cave one day, following soccer practice. They were trapped after Monsoon flooding blocked the passageway.

The escape route spans 2.5 miles and takes hours to pass through. Reportedly, there has been one rescue fatality, a former navy seal who went to place oxygen canisters along the route.
