Tyrese Gibson revealed on Comedy Central’s Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz that his three-year feud with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been squashed.
“Me and The Rock peaced up by the way,” Tyrese said during his appearance to promote his recent film, The Christmas Chronicles 2. “We talked for like four hours about three weeks ago…What’s interesting about The Fast and The Furious is it’s not about any of us individually. We’re like the UN at this point. Everyone gets to go to the theater and say, ‘He and she looks like me.’ If I did it with [Ludacris’ Tej], then who are we going to play off of? I could not just make it about me. I just could not.”
In 2017, Tyrese criticized The Rock for moving forward with Fast & Furious spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw, and delaying the release of the franchise’s ninth film. F9 is scheduled to be released in May 2021. A tenth and eleventh film are both planned, as is a sequel to Hobbs & Shaw.
