Every year, Trae Tha Truth turns his birthday into something much bigger than a celebration. Trae Day has become one of Houston’s most anticipated annual events, bringing the community together with free family activities, entertainment and opportunities to give back.

In this interview with Houston Life’s Melanie Camp and Lauren Kelly, Trae shares what’s in store for Trae Day 2026, why serving others has become his life’s mission, and why his humanitarian work extends far beyond Houston, including recent efforts to support earthquake victims in Venezuela. Plus, he offers simple ways anyone can make a difference in their own community. If you’re looking for inspiration, community and everything happening during Trae Day, you won’t want to miss this conversation. The main family fun day is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at Silver Katy Stadium from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., but that’s just the center piece. He’s also launching a special needs family fun day on Saturday at the George R. Brown Convention Center, an event that’s already attracted over 4,000 families who’ve signed up. Everything is completely free. Attendees can enjoy free haircuts, nail services, face painting, and more.

But Trae is going even bigger this year in terms of technology. He’s partnering with rapper Lil Durk and Bump Box to give away 400 to 500 tablets, which he calls “Trey Techs,” to kids. Trae’s commitment to service extends far beyond Houston’s city limits. His nonprofit Angel By Nature has become instrumental in disaster relief efforts across the country. Recently, he’s been raising support for earthquake victims in Venezuela, continuing a pattern of humanitarian work that spans disasters and global crises.

For those wanting to get involved with Trae Day, Trae encourages everyone to participate, whether as a volunteer or simply as an attendee experiencing the events firsthand.
