It’s been nearly 30 years since fans have seen Martin Lawrence dance around during the opening credits of his iconic self-titled sitcom.
After three decades of waiting for a proper ending to what was once a comedic staple on network television, it appears as though the executives at BET are going to give Martin fans what they have been longing for. In fact, a reunion special featuring all of the main cast members, except for the late Thomas Mikal Ford, began taping yesterday. It will be hosted by comedian Affion Crockett and executive produced by Run Tel Dat Entertainment, which is owned by Martin Lawrence.
Days before the production got underway, Tisha Cambell took to Instagram to announce the reunion special. Along with the following caption, “Ya’ll ready?! We ARE!!”
While no official release date has been set, the 30th anniversary TV special will air on BET+
