J. Cole’s latest album, The Off-Season, is set to debut at number one after earning 282,000 equivalent units sold in its first week.
One of the album’s standouts is “Let Go My Hand,” which is where J. Cole confirmed the long-rumored altercation between him and Diddy. During an appearance on the “Say Less” podcast, J. Cole’s manager and Dreamville Records co-founder Ibrahim “IB” Hamad offered more details on the 2013 encounter. About 12 minutes into the lengthy interview, IB dispelled the rumor that the altercation was a result of J. Cole defending Kendrick Lamar over his “Control” verse. Without detailing what caused the issue between J. Cole and Diddy, IB expressed his shock in no one exposing the altercation or having their phone out during the VMA party. IB added that there was never a real issue between the rapper and Bad Boy founder. He also revealed that J. Cole and Diddy squashed the potential beef the next day.
