Via Twitter, the rapper revealed how much he earns weekly via his music.
Along with that, he gave some advice to artists on how to get more money without giving up a chunk to a record label. Russ shared screenshots of his Tunecore account via Twitter and the rapper clarified his thoughts on Instagram via DJ Akademiks and said:
“If you’re not an artist you shouldn’t gaf lol this isn’t for you. But all my fellow artists out there, don’t let labels rob you blind with outdated industry standards.”Â
If you’re still letting a company take a 15% “distribution” fee in 2020 you’re condoning your own exploitation..distribution nowadays is pressing one button and it goin to the DSPs..that’s not worthy of 15%
Distribute your own music and you’ll see how exploitative labels are
