In the latest issue of Batman: Urban Legends, Batman’s longtime sidekick Robin, also known as Tim Drake in the monthly anthology series, comes out as bisexual.
Robin’s LGBTQ status was confirmed after he accepted an invitation to go on a date with a man named Bernard Dowd. Bernard and Robin were involved in a street brawl, and Robin then goes to check on Bernard at his apartment later. When Bernard answers the door, Robin tells him, “I’m really glad you got home okay. I was relieved. And I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, about that night. And I — I don’t know what it meant to me. Not yet. But I’d like to figure it out.”
Bernard then tells Robin, “I was hoping you would. Tim Drake … do you want to go on a date with me?” Robin obliges, telling Bernard, “Yeah, I think I want that.” The comic then stops there, to be continued until the latest installment drops in December.
Tim Drake finally coming out is so inspiring, DC never wanted a queer Robin but after years and years of campaigning from writers and fans it finally happened
