Record label 300 Entertainment has been “exploring a sale” of the label founded in 2012.
The label has served as a prominent rising independent imprint since their beginning, with acts like Young Thug, Migos, Gunna, and Fetty Wap being a part of their roster at one point. Now, acts like Megan The Stallion are leading the way for the company. It was noted that the company is considering a sale for $400 million. The report surfaced via Bloomberg, which went on to highlight the brand’s accomplishments. The sole head of the label, Kevin Liles, spoke on the label in 2019, saying, “[300] are part of what I call the ‘New Independents’; it’s not the old way of thinking, it means being independent in partnership, independent in capitalization, and independent in collaboration.”
Sources near the label heads claim the label owners want to sell the company to take advantage of the “most frenzied market for music assets in recent memory.”
