R&B singer Jacquees is now a free man after he was released from the Broward County Main Jail on a $3,500 bond before posting bail.
Jacquees was arrested Sunday morning in Hollywood, Florida, after police found him passed out behind the wheel of his Jeep Gladiator. The 32-year-old, whose real name is Rodriguez Jacquees Broadnax, is now facing three charges: DUI, battery on an officer, and resisting an officer without violence.
Hollywood police responded to a call just before 8 A.M. Sunday at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and North 62nd Avenue. Officers found Jacquees unresponsive in his white pickup truck. After several attempts to wake him by tapping the window and shaking the vehicle, firefighters had to break the right front window to reach him. According to the arrest report, Jacquees smelled of alcohol when officers finally got him out of the truck. Police said he became combative with first responders as he was being transported to a hospital.
During the process, he allegedly punched a police officer in the arm while resisting being placed on a stretcher. An officer struck Broadnax in the face with his forearm to place him under arrest.
