In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Morgan Freeman candidly opened up about race and why he considers it an “insult” to be labeled an African American.
âTwo things I can say publicly that I do not like. Black History Month is an insult. Youâre going to relegate my history to a month?â Freeman lamented.
âI donât subscribe to that title,â Freeman explained. âBlack people have had different titles all the way back to the N-word and I do not know how these things get such a grip, but everyone uses âAfrican-Americanâ. What does it really mean? Most Black people in this part of the world are mongrels. And you say Africa as if itâs a country when itâs a continent, like Europe.â
