Logic Defines “Real Hip Hop,” Calls It Diversity

Logic is one of the premier artists in the music industry. His recent project “Bobby Tarantino II” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200.

Logic has been appreciated for his dope lyricism and his willingness to express subject matter outside the normal realm of hip-hop. During a conversation with Power 106’s Cruz Show, Logic, who recently split from wife of two years, shared the steps he has taken recently to keep in mental health in check. While he jokes that “Mary-jane” is his therapist, Logic opened up about his current therapy regimen.

When confronted with the notion that hip-hop rarely touches on mental health issues, Logic replied, “Real Hip Hop talks about it.”

He continued, “That’s always so funny, there’s this stigma like ‘what is Hip Hop, what’s not Hip Hop?’ Hip Hop is diversity. Hip Hop is acceptance. Hip Hop is love. Hip Hop is peace, love, and positivity. Hip Hip is pioneers and people who push people to be themselves, look at Kid Cudi. Hip Hop isn’t blogs. Hip Hop is the true people, the artists like myself who do everything they can to tell people to spread their message and their positivity. That’s what Hip Hop is.”
