Lil Wayne rarely does interviews, but when he does, the artist reveals powerful information.
Recently, the rapper spoke with Emmanuel Acho for a series called ‘Uncomfortable Conversations.’ Lil Wayne noted his purpose in doing the interview was to help fans who may be having trouble with mental health issues. During the interview, Wayne noted he started dealing with mental health issues around an early age in his life. The rapper said “As a kid, around 10, when I was told I couldn’t have what I wanted, what I dreamed of and what I desired, and that was to rap. I was willing to die for it.” Wayne then talked about another instance where he tried to kill himself. Wayne went on to say when he was 12, his mom found out about him lying about school, with a punishment to follow. Before his mom got home, he found her gun and put the weapon to his chest, pulling the trigger. However, the gun was loaded, but he said he fainted from the shock of the act.
